Share Your Photos of BayCon on Flickr!

This year, BayCon is trying an experiment. We've set up a Flickr
site with photos and short video clips of people and events for
everyone to admire. The newsletter has limited space, so this will
provide a way to share more photos with BayCon members We're new
to Flickr, so please be patient as we explore how to use it.

The BayCon Flickr site will include hall costume and masquerade
award winners, photos from special events, and outstanding
photos and short video clips that you submit. Visit
www.flickr.com/photos/baycon often to see new photos as they
are posted. There is a "photostream" of recent photos and short
video clips, and photo sets organized by event (e.g. masquerade,
meet the guest, etc) or by day (e.g. Friday) for general photos.

If you have an outstanding photo or short (90 sec / 150Mb) video
clip you'd like to share, you can submit it to the BayCon Filckr
site by email. Publication staff will review your submission and
select ones to post. We'll try to post as many as possible, but
please be patient with us: we're a few volunteers and reviewing and
organizing takes time.

You can help us, and increase the chances your photo or short video
clip will be posted, by following these instructions carefully.

1. Add your photo or short video clip to a new email message as an
attachment. One photo or video clip per email please.

2. Add a short description as the body of the email message. Make
sure your mail program does not add extraneous text such as a
signature line or it will become part of the description.

3. Add tags by entering "tags:" in the subject line, followed by
one or more keywords to help people find and identify your
submission. Tags are single words, or multiple words within
quotes. Separate your tags by one or more spaces. They can include
location, event, people, or anything else that will allow others to
find your photo or short video clip. You can see tags people have
already used on the BayCon Flickr site. Using popular tags also
help us create new sets for related groups of photos.

Here's a good example that identifies an event and subject:

tags: klingon slave auction "orion slave girl"

Don't forget to start your subject line with "tags: " or Flickr
will ignore your tags!

4. Send your email message to: "try72walked@photos.flickr.com"
