Wow, was it my imagination or was that place actually too small to host us?
Grats to Reg Crew, I was in and out of there in four minutes. I don't know you but I love you ladies. :)
Gaming was tight! Legend of the Five Rings game was neat and treated new players with kid gloves!
Art Room was a little tense....just saying. I got out of there with a choice piece though! Mael, supa-sweet!
I missed the Masquerade but saw it on BCTV!
Firefly Larp was total choke (me not them) I didn't pre-reg and a lesson was learned but the damage was irreversible. :(
A very pleasant sensation was had by the free exchance of ideas about writing, and especially cool was writers like Keven Andrew Murphy just hanging out like normal joes.
I'd pay double for that, on the whole. I even saw the owner of Other Change of Hobbit in Berkeley. That's a rare flight of birds my friends.
The Con was Go!

Re: POST Con!
Tue, May 27, 2008 - 12:29 PMThe Con's
I didn't like the bathrooms which gave little to no privacy
The rooms looked like Ikea threw up in them.
The Dinner Staff were horrible, as was the food.
Drunken Punk Kids who were REALLY under dressed
The Pro's
Gaming was awesome as always!
The breakfast Staff were great and had awesome conversations and the food was pretty good and fresh fruit!
The Last Evil Genius Party was awesome and the drinks were inventive if not disgusting
The hot tub was comforting
Quick check in
Regency Dancing :)
Con Suite had awesome drinks and nice staff :)
Registration was pretty damn well organized :) Plus the people in Reg are pretty great :) -

Wed, May 28, 2008 - 8:43 PMUgh, I missed the hot tub.
There were some idiots on my floor I wanted dead.
Dinner staff was pretty bad.
Ikea? Much nicer. I liked the rooms. -

Wed, May 28, 2008 - 9:00 PMThe hot tub was very nice, especially when you're sharing it with some lovely ladies. It felt really good on Monday morning.
Even with the minimal amount of sleep I actually got ( 3.5hrs on Fri night, 4hrs on each Sat and Sun night ), it was pretty quiet on the 5th floor.
The rooms were ok, even though the nightstand in my room between the beds was broken and eventually toppled over trashing the lamp.

Re: POST Con!
Sat, May 31, 2008 - 10:46 PMI had a great time at BayCon. I agree with the comment about the hotel, the bathroom offers no privacy, the air conditioner was weak, the end table with the safe always fell over, and there was no closet. The Hotel staff was extremely pleasant and polite, I like them alot.
Best time I had was at the parties. I was romaing around Friday nigth and hit every party but on Saturday night I hung out with the Klingons in the Black Hole. That was one awesome party there and the drinks were great. I realy liked 'Honorable Death' and 'Revenge'.. These Klingons really entertain. One big Klingon sang to me then danced with me - I gave him a big hug and I didn't want to let go. I don't even know who he was, lol.
The only downside of the con, I ran into my ex bf but wou'dn't you know it my new Klingon friend saved me from my ex.
I can't wait until next year. -

Sun, June 1, 2008 - 2:35 AMThere was a secret to the air conditioner, you had to turn it WAY down past the temp you wanted to make it kick on. -

Re: POST Con!
Mon, June 2, 2008 - 11:29 AMI had no problem with the air conditioner at all, it worked great on the 12th floor. Even with it off, the air from other rooms kept things nice and cool.
There is talk amongst the boffers! They (SCA/Alliance(NERO)/etc) want to run the Boffer BoF, or the Bof BoF! Definitely I want to separately run the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund BoF as well myself. All those free spirits could raise a lot of cash for the CBLDF and talk comics at the same time. All win!
Non registered games were utter fail, I saw maybe two D&D games start and a lot of people waiting around unsatisfied. I'm registering all the games next time!
Lastly, it was awesome that the guys from Fanboyplanet.com ran their podcast right on the second floor. Questionable sound control, but very nice of them! -

Re: POST Con!
Mon, June 2, 2008 - 2:38 PMAs the head of gaming for this year's BayCon and probably next, I will happily make sure that any game that you want to run for BayCon 2009 is listed in the program book, schedule, and newsletter so as to give it as much coverage to attract players as possible. Unfortunately, I very rarely get people who contact me before the con to arrange for publicity for RPG type events, so they tend to be sort of catch as catch can.
I do keep a computer and printer at the staff desk if you decide at the last minute that you want to run something, so a sign-up sheet and/or some signage can be provided to let people know that you are running a game, when, and what.

Re: POST Con!
Tue, June 3, 2008 - 9:00 PMThe con space wasn't always optimum, but we had a great time. The bar staff was really wonderful. I hated the rooms though. No storage space and not enough counter space for a costumer. We had our privacy signs stolen twice! And what was up with that creepy room art. If anyone had played a banjo, i would've had to run screaming.
