I don't sleep much, but when I do, I value it.....do I want to be on the party floor? Is it cliquish (a continuation of Birds of a Feather) or what?

Re: 'Party Floor'?
Mon, March 10, 2008 - 10:23 AMummm if you want to sleep at all, you DONT want to be on the party floor. sometimes the parties can get incredibly loud and most of the time they go until well past 2am. i would suggest if you want any sleep you should be a distance from the party floors.
good luck!

Re: 'Party Floor'?
Mon, March 10, 2008 - 1:09 PMAha, thank you, that is such a simple question right, but tought to get a nuanced answer from research. I wanted to know whether the parties were like the parties at Dundracon...seven max to a room with some light conversation continuing on into the night, or like eleven people screaming over each other, alcholhol and music. Sounds like the latter, so I think I will take the old man opt out and find a quiet room for my retreat! Thanks Janie! I'm alerting every fool I can find about Baycon, trying to overturn that 700 person drop in attendance last year. I will rustle every bush! -

Re: 'Party Floor'?
Mon, March 10, 2008 - 2:07 PMI have to say, the parties at BayCon run the gamut from quiet conversation and snacks to loud and raucous Klingon Slave Auctions. I assure you, a room to decompress away from the party floor is an excellent idea.

Re: 'Party Floor'?
Sat, March 15, 2008 - 4:12 PMWhen the convention was still at the DoubleTree I usually had my room directly above the party floor, over the back balcony. It was noisy, yes. It was a constaqnt ebb of energy, yes. It was bright because I get rid of the curtains before the convention starts, oh so yes. However, we all slept fine.
How, granted, this might be due to the fact most of the people I room with don't usually goto bed until after the parties end but still...
